The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) showed glimpse of its secret gold vault for the first time in history in its documentary 'RBI Unlocked: Beyond The Rupee'. A single gold bar stored in RBI’s reserves weighs 12.5 kg and is estimated to be worth around ₹12.5 crore. Since economic crisis of 1991, RBI multiplied its gold reserves many times over.
