Russia has expressed readiness to assist in de-escalating tensions between the US and Iran over Tehran's nuclear programme. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced that Moscow is prepared to remove Iran's excess enriched uranium and convert it into civilian reactor fuel. Notably, Russia has signed an agreement to construct eight nuclear power plants in Iran.
