US insurers, and not LIC, led recent investments in Adani firms, reported PTI. A month after LIC's ₹5,000-crore investment in Adani Ports, US-based Athene Insurance led a ₹6,650-crore debt investment in Adani's Mumbai International Airport in June, joined by other international insurance firms, the report added. This comes after Washington Post claimed Centre "forced" LIC to invest in Adani Group.
