Matthew McConaughey returned to acting after 6-year hiatus in March 2025 with director Andrew Patterson's 'The Rivals of Amziah King'. He revealed his return was not planned, but inspired by Patterson's screenplay for the film. "I remembered...One, how much I truly enjoy performing. Two...'hey, McConaughey, you're pretty damn good at this'. And three...acting is a vacation for me," he said.
