French carmaker Renault plans to lay off around 3,000 employees in support services, including HR, finance and marketing, according to local newsletter L'Informe. The company didn't confirm the numbers but said it was considering ways to cut costs amid the uncertainties in the automotive market. In July, Renault reported a first-half net loss of €11.2 billion ($13 billion).
