Republican leader Valentina Gomez, who's running for Texas' 31st Congressional District in 2026, shared a video wherein she promised to "end Islam in Texas once and for all". In August, Gomez sparked outrage after she vowed to "end Islam" while setting fire to a Quran copy. "Go back to your Muslim nation. America is a Christian nation," she said.
