Hundreds of residents protested on Monday after Thane Municipal Corporation carried out a court-ordered demolition drive against illegal buildings in Mumbra's Khan Compound. The protests delayed the drive by around nine hours. Two buildings were partially demolished on Monday, Encroachment Department official Shankar Patole said, adding five other buildings would likely be demolished on Tuesday.
