Investment banking firm Jefferies said the 50% tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on India are a result of not being allowed to mediate between India and Pakistan in May. "Tariffs are primarily the consequence of the American president's personal pique," it said. It called this development of imposing tariffs as a classic example of conceptual vacuum in Washington.
