Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recalled Richa Chadha's resentment of being stereotyped by Bollywood after her role in 'Gangs of Wasseypur'. He said, "Richa Chadha played Nagma in 'Gangs of Wasseypur'...She was amazing, but industry stereotyped her. She wouldn't get offers for main leads. She developed resentments." He added, "She said...playing Nawazuddin's mother in [the film] ruined her career."
