Chinese scientists are developing the world's first humanoid robot with an artificial womb to carry and deliver human babies. The project, led by Dr Zhang Qifeng at Kaiwa Technology in Guangzhou, aims to launch a prototype in 2026 priced around 100,000 yuan (around ₹12 lakh). Developing babies will be enclosed in a nutrient-rich artificial amniotic fluid inside the robot.
