The Rajya Sabha passed the Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill 2025, by voice vote, amidst protests by the Opposition demanding a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar's electoral roll. The chair at the time, Bhubaneswar Kalita, said the House was not in order and rejected CPI (M) MP John Brittas' request for a division of votes.
