Russia and Iran have signed a memorandum of understanding to build small nuclear power plants across Iran, announced Russian state nuclear agency Rosatom. The agreement was signed by Rosatom chief Alexey Likhachev and Iran's top nuclear official Mohammad Eslami in Moscow. Eslami said they plan to construct eight plants as Tehran seeks to reach 20GW nuclear energy capacity by 2040.
