Russia has officially accepted the Taliban's nomination of Amir Khan Muttaqi as ambassador to Moscow, the Afghan Foreign Ministry said on Sunday. This follows Russia's April decision to lift its two-decade ban on the Taliban as a terrorist organisation. "We hope this new phase will allow both countries to expand cooperation in various fields," said Muttaqi, Taliban's foreign minister.
