The Russian Investigative Committee has said that the two incidents of railway sabotage by Ukraine were terrorist attacks and were intended to cause maximum civilian casualties. In one incident, a bridge fell in front of a passenger train and in another, a railway bridge collapsed under a moving freight train. Explosive device fragments were recovered from the scene by investigators.
