Russia on Monday sentenced a Siberian cult leader who claimed to be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ to 12 years in prison for harming the health and financial affairs of his followers. Sergei Torop, a former traffic policeman, claimed he was “reborn” to spread God’s word. Torop told followers to avoid meat, alcohol, smoking, swearing, and even stop using money.
