Russia said on Thursday it has captured the Ukrainian town of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region after nearly 16 months of fighting. Russian troops have reportedly evacuated most residents from the town of Chasiv Yar after capturing the town. Chasiv Yar is located about 10 km from Ukraine's Bakhmut city, which the Russian Defence Ministry reported capturing in May 2023.
