According to Vitalii Kim the head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, on the morning of June 3, Russia attacked Mykolaiv with a Kinzhal (Kh-47M2) aeroballistic missile with a range of 2,000 km, probably launched from a MiG-31K fighter jet. Further Kim clarified that the strike was near the port infrastructure building, and a localised fire started.
