A same-sex couple has moved Bombay High Court, challenging the Income Tax law that discriminates against them by taxing the gifts received by one partner from another, according to reports. They reportedly requested the court to declare that the term 'spouse' in the tax provisions be interpreted to include long-term same-sex partners. This would allow them to claim tax relief.
