Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya has been unanimously elected as the new West Bengal BJP President, news agency PTI reported on Thursday. Bhattacharya emerged as the sole contender to file the nomination for the post presently held by Sukanta Majumdar. Congratulating him, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said, "I am certain that your tenure will be defined by transformative initiatives."
