Ethiopia's Hayli Gubbi volcano erupted for first time in 12,000 years, sending a massive sulphur dioxide plume into atmosphere on Monday. An image by ESA's Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite shows the plume extending for approximately 3,700 kilometres from Ethiopia to Arabian Sea and reaching India. This sulphur-rich cloud poses threats to aviation safety, air quality, and climate.
