IIT Bombay used NASA/ESA satellite data to reliably track rising CO2 and Methane over Mumbai/Delhi, crucial for Paris Accord targets. Validated against TCCON, the study identifies hotspots (eg, landfills) and uses a SARIMA model to forecast GHGs. This gives policymakers evidence for targeted interventions.
