Saudi Arabia executed journalist Turki Al-Jasser, who was arrested in 2018 and later convicted, over charges of treason and terrorism. Turki Al-Jasser had allegedly levied corruption allegations against Saudi royals. He was executed after the kingdom's highest court upheld the death sentence. Al-Jasser also allegedly posted several controversial tweets about militants and militant groups.
