The National Commission for Scheduled Castes today took suo motu cognisance of the suicide of Dalit IPS officer Y Puran Kumar. It issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of Chandigarh and the DGP of Chandigarh Police, asking them to submit an action taken report within seven days.
