The Supreme Court granted permanent custody of a child to the mother who got remarried to another man in Kerala, saying that it would be harsh to expect the child to flourish in a household where his biological father is like a stranger to him. It observed that it cannot turn a blind eye to the trauma being inflicted on the child.
