The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notices to the Centre and states on a PIL alleging Bengali-speaking migrant labourers are detained on mere suspicion of being illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. A bench led by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai declined to pass interim order, saying it would first hear responses from the Union government and concerned state administrations.
