Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal said Supreme Court's in-house panel report in Justice Yashwant Varma's case has no "constitutional relevance" as an investigation can only take place under Judges Inquiry Act. He stated only Parliament has power to constitute judges inquiry committee. Notably, the in-house panel recommended Justice Varma's removal after large amount of cash was found at his residence.
