The Supreme Court has upheld the 2024 order of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), directing Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) to ensure that all building and construction projects falling wholly or partly within 5 km of concerned categories shall be treated as ‘Category A’ projects. CREDAI, Godrej Properties Ltd, and Sai Sahara Developers had preferred appeals.
