The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the state governments of Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to enforce complete ban on firecrackers in their respective areas falling within National Capital Region (NCR). The court stated that non-compliance will invite contempt proceedings. The court also asked the states to ensure that wide publicity is given to the ban.
