In West Bengal’s Dooars, SP Pandey, a school teacher, has spearheaded an initiative to protect elephant corridors. Collaborating with Wildlife Trust of India, he has organised awareness sessions and volunteer groups to mitigate human-elephant conflict. Pandey has ensured safe passage for 500 elephants across 25 tea gardens, safeguarding wildlife by engaging tea estate owners and local communities.
