Scientists embarked on a 10-day research cruise, which will end on June 12, to assess the damage to marine life and fisheries after a Liberian-flagged vessel sank off Kochi coast last month. The vessel contained hazardous chemicals. As part of the project, launched by Ministry of Earth Sciences, underwater cameras will be used to inspect structural damage and oil leaks.
