Scientists reveal why giraffes have long legs

A new study challenged the belief that giraffes evolved long necks first to reach tall trees. Researchers found that their long legs developed earlier to help the heart pump blood more efficiently to the head. The adaptation saves about 21% of energy, equal to 1.5 tonnes of food yearly, making giraffes' evolution an energy-efficient process.
