Physicists from Goethe University, Frankfurt, have uncovered how relativistic particle jets are formed by rotating black holes. Through advanced computer simulations, they found that magnetic reconnection creates plasmoids, which move at light speed in a black hole's equator. The jets accelerate particles to relativistic speeds, impacting galaxies and quasars while shaping cosmic evolution.
