Scientists have discovered dozens of new coelacanth fossils in UK museum collections that had gone unnoticed for over 150 years. The coelacanth, often called "living fossil" and thought to be extinct, was rediscovered in 1938 when one was caught in the Indian Ocean. The study boosts known British coelacanth finds from four to over 50.
