Martin Scorsese will receive the lifetime achievement award at Italy's 71st Taormina Film Festival. "His presence is truly a historic event, not only for our festival, but for the entire cultural landscape of Italy. Scorsese is much more than a filmmaker, he is a living legend," said event head Rocca. The award celebrates his commitment to "preservation of cinema's memory".
