Eighteen-year-old weightlifter Sairaj Pardeshi bagged gold medal in the junior men's 88-kg category at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships 2025 in Ahmedabad. Sairaj, who is the son of a scrap dealer, lifted a record total of 348 kg (157 kg in snatch and 191 kg in clean and jerk), a feat that surpassed even the senior category winner's total.
