Search, rescue, and aid operations are robust in the flood-hit areas of Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi, with 225 army troops reportedly deployed on the ground. The Indian Air Force has also joined the operations with two planes carrying relief and rescue material, landing in Dehradun. Chinook and Mi-17 helicopters are on standby to begin the evacuation process if the weather is favourable.
