The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that secretly recorded phone conversations of a spouse can be admitted as evidence in divorce cases. It overturned a Punjab & Haryana High Court verdict calling such recordings a privacy violation. The apex court observed that if spouses are actively snooping on each other, it reflects a broken relationship.
