Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted India's twin-track approach to simultaneously attain developed economy status by 2047 and strengthen self-reliance amid ongoing global turmoil. "Self-reliance does not imply pursuing a closed economy," she added. India's capacity to absorb shocks is strong, she said over tariff threats. "We cannot afford to be passive spectators," she added.
