At least six major doughnut and bakery chains, including Dunkin' Donuts, Mad Over Donuts, Theobroma and Krispy Kreme have each received GST notices demanding ₹50-60 crore in unpaid taxes, NDTV Profit reported. The notices demand 18% GST on their sale of doughnuts and bakery items. Notices argue that such sales don't qualify as restaurant services, which are taxed at 5%.
