On day two of the fifth round of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26, Shardul Thakur smashed a 32-ball 56 and then picked up three early wickets. His all-round performance helped Mumbai reduce Puducherry to 43-4 after they had amassed 630-5 declared, spearheaded by Siddhesh Lad's 170 and Akash Anand's 107*. Thakur last played for India during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in July-August.
