Syrian President and former Al-Qaeda leader Ahmed al-Sharaa is set to attend General Debate of UN General Assembly, which opens its 80th session on Tuesday. This marks the first participation of Syrian President in UN General Assembly since 1967. US has lifted most sanctions on Syria and Donald Trump administration has voiced its support for Sharaa's efforts to stabilise Syria.
