Sharjeel Imam, accused in the 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy case, withdrew his application seeking interim bail to contest as an independent candidate in the Bihar elections. The riot case is being heard at Delhi's Karkardooma Court. His lawyer said that since Imam's regular bail application is pending before the Supreme Court, his interim bail plea should also be moved there.
