A global systematic review and meta-analysis has found that herpes zoster vaccine, used to prevent shingles, significantly lowers cardiovascular risk. The vaccine was linked to 18% reduction in heart attack and stroke risk in adults aged 18 and older, and 16% in those over 50. Findings of the research will be presented at European Society of Cardiology Congress in Madrid.
