Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar mispronounced the International Booker Prize winner Deepa Bhasthi's name multiple times on stage during the felicitation ceremony of Bhasthi and Banu Mushtaq, News18 reported. After he called Deepa Bhasthi as Deepa Jasthi, she responded to him on stage saying, "People have called it Jasthi, basti, basanthi etc. I am Deepa Bhasthi."
