Ancient Hindu idols and Shivlings, possibly from the Karkoota dynasty, were recovered from Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, the artefacts were found at Karkoot Nag in the Salia area during restoration work being conducted by the Public Works Department. The Jammu and Kashmir Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums will send the idols to Srinagar for study.
