The Taliban has ordered the closure of all secret women's beauty parlours in Afghanistan within a month, warning operators of arrest if they fail to comply. The ban, originally enforced in August 2023, forced the shutdown of 12,000 businesses and left over 50,000 women jobless. Community leaders are now required to report clandestine parlours to the authorities.
