Former CJI DY Chandrachud said 'One Nation One Election' (ONOE) legislation doesn't infringe upon voters' rights to choose their elected representatives. "Constitution doesn't say that polls can be free and fair only if they are held non-simultaneously," a report quoted him saying. He further said holding simultaneous elections would not blur the distinction between different tiers of government.
