Cricket Australia's 2024-25 census revealed 1,03,232 South Asian Australians registered for cricket participation, achieving the 2027 target of 1,00,000 two years early. For the sixth straight season, Singh was the most common surname, followed by Patel, Smith, Sharma and Williams. Over 5,000 players with the surname Singh registered, 50% more than those named Smith.
