Airtel's foreign promoter Singtel has divested a 0.8% stake in the Indian telco for ₹10,300 crore ($1.17 billion) through a block deal on Friday. Singtel's unit Pastel sold 51 million shares of Airtel, at ₹2,030 apiece, representing a discount of about 3.1% to the Indian telco's last close on Thursday. The divestment is part of Singtel's mid-term asset recycling programme.
