A retired doctor’s wife and her lover in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, tried to murder him using sleeping pills and a hammer. But the lover, drunk on premium alcohol, passed out, saving the doctor’s life. The victim escaped and informed neighbours. Police have filed an FIR and launched a manhunt for the accused.
